The bell above the door chimed, and Charles was immediately greeted by Becky, who offered a warm smile. Her friendly welcome was a refreshing change from the tense atmosphere he remembered before. Charles quickly noticed another difference too: Matt was no longer managing the place. Instead, he was working as a store clerk, while Becky had stepped into the manager role. The shift in roles was significant, and it intrigued him.
