The tunnel changed subtly. Its width shrank, beams drew closer together, and strange colored markings appeared on each support—different hues but all the same shape. Carl narrowed his eyes. It didn’t feel random. Something, or someone, had made this to guide them. “We’re supposed to follow this,” he muttered. And deep down, he knew he was right.
