Dr. Patel closed the journal abruptly and fixed Brianna with a serious, unreadable stare. “I need you to leave the creature here for a few days,” he said. Brianna blinked. “Leave it? Why?” He hesitated. “There’s too much to study in one session.” Brianna frowned and stood. “I’ll think about it.” Patel nodded, disappointed. She left, more confused than ever before.
