Still shaken, they packed their bags again and left the cabin. The woods were quiet. Morning dew dampened the trail. They stepped carefully over roots and leaves. Jason checked the map, Emily her gear. Neither spoke much, but the silence between them was thick. Everything had changed, and they both felt it deeply.
