Rumble and explosion
Suddenly, a deep rumble rolled through the earth beneath them. Both men stopped in their tracks. The sound grew louder, followed by a violent tremor that shook the ground. Then came a sharp, deafening explosion from behind them. Charles turned, eyes wide, heart racing. “What the hell was that?” he yelled.
