This isn’t dirt
Tom stepped into his friend’s house and slipped off his boots so he wouldn’t smudge dirt all over the floor. But when he pulled off the heavy boot, he noticed something. The black soil that clung to his shoe’s sole wasn’t dirt at all. It was sticky and black as night. “This is oil!” Tom yelled throughout the hallway.
