Quiet Trail Disrupted

Lilly never planned to go hiking that morning. Black clouds hung in the air, and rain was forecast. But for some strange reason, Lilly felt pulled toward the forest. She needed to be in the forest. And it was a good thing she did, because what she found there was bizarre, to say the least. It started with a high-pitched whining noise about 30 minutes into her hike.
