Abby wondered where those tunnels would lead and if they had anything to do with the sinkhole appearing in their neighborhood. But there was no time to ponder these thoughts because, before long, voices returned overhead. The guards were done with the car alarm distraction and had returned to the sinkhole. They had to move—now. Abby was the first one to dive into one of the tunnels.
