From this close, this thing looked huge, far bigger than he had guessed standing on the opposite side of the river. Liam’s skin prickled. There was something unnatural about the way it lay, long stretched out, and squid-like in shape. He crouched near the edge of the shape, careful not to touch it just yet. Liam was never rattled, but nerves had gotten to him now.
