Liam moved to another side of the strange object and began to wipe away a thick patch of grime. Just as he slid the last chunk of muck off, he paused. Beneath it was something not smooth or metallic, but soft and round. His breath caught. It looked like skin. More than that—it looked like an eyelid. Closed. Motionless. Covered in damp soil and moss.
