Giving them names
From left to right, they were: Clyde, Duke, Dusty, Nancy, Nicky, and Opal. Each bird already exhibited its own personality, and by giving them names, it was easier to talk about them. Dusty was the hungry one, always begging his caretakers for food. Opal was the clumsy sibling who fell over all the time. Duke was clearly the leader, helping his brothers and sisters whenever he could.
