The birds took to it immediately. They pecked the grass, stretched their wings, and paced along the perimeter. Clyde was always the first to explore. Dusty followed close behind. But even with the new space, something still felt off. They looked through the mesh toward the trees, the open fields, the clouds. Laura noticed. “They want more,” she said softly. “They want freedom.”
