By the second morning, concern had started to grow. It was clear she hadn’t eaten anything from the communal feeding tray. Normally, she was one of the first to snatch up bananas. But not this time. One of the keepers, Ben, tossed a pear in her direction. It bounced and rolled beside her. She reached out lazily and grabbed it—but didn’t budge an inch.
