“What was that?” Elise said as she franticly looked around so she could pinpoint where the snapping sound came from. She was on high alert, and with it, her senses went into overdrive, spotting any irregularity around her instantly. With these sharpened senses, she was able to detect the hidden man surprisingly quickly. She locked eyes with him and let out a high-pitched scream.
