Just as he caught his breath, a voice called out behind him. “Cade? Are you back here?” It was Amber, his sister. Cade’s eyes widened in panic. He’d completely forgotten they planned to meet for coffee that afternoon. She was already entering the backyard. Cade scrambled up and ran toward the shed, mind racing, unsure why his gut told him to hide the chest.
