His light bobbed wildly as he retraced his path, each hallway now unfamiliar in reverse. Dust swirled around him from kicked-up sediment. The collapsed chamber. The tunnel bend. The raised platform. He passed it all, lungs tightening as the warning beep quickened. He could feel it now—not just in the tank, but in his body. Every muscle began to ache with panic.
